Chalets Lac à
la Truite is located in St-Agathe on some of the most beautiful
property in the Laurentians called Chanteclair. Waldemar
Gentemann, a European businessman, founded Chanteclair
in 1965. Gentemann was drawn by the mountains, lakes
and the fresh air of the Laurentians.
He had found his dream
mountains in St-Agathe spread over more than 1,000 acres
and located on the edge of Lac à la Truite. |

This area
reminded him so much of Germany and Switzerland. He had
a vision to build a village that resembled a little German
or Swiss mountain village. While developing roads, subdividing
land and incorporating a water system, Gentemann was
also busy selling land lots and building Swiss style
chalets. His development quickly became a reality and
a huge success. Today there are almost 400 chalets within
the mountains and valleys of Chanteclair where Gentemann
and his daughter Diana also own and operate Chalets
Lac à la Truite, a resort and business
at which they’ve
become experts for over three decades.
